After a 2 year absence we are back! The last two years have been hard for everyone, but finally community events are making a return. This year’s Carnival follows a similar structure as 2019. It starts with our Local Charity and Organisations Tabletop, followed by the Opening Ceremony,
a late afternoon of music in the Marquee, and the always popular SKA Band ‘The Embezzlers’ in the evening. Other events to look forward to during the week include: Choirs & a Shanty Group; Services Day; Music featuring many local bands; Quiz; Children’s Day (including Teignmouth’s Bonny Baby Show, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Show, Ozzy Dee, and a story telling with local artist and author Laura Wall); TGT; Carnival Dog Show; Children’s Mini Olympics; and to finish the week off our Music Extravaganza Day.
The Carnival Procession will be on Thursday night (28th July). After the Procession we have Mafia 4 performing for you on The Den on the Outside Stage. And as always The Carnival Grand Firework Display at 10pm.
There are several music acts for you to enjoy this year. The superb ‘Bailjumpers’ will open this year’s musical performances at 3pm in The Marquee. We have the foot stomping Bootleggers Turn band playing for you Sunday evening. On Tuesday night in the Marquee, we have a Dolly Parton Tribute – Diamond Dolly. FILTA are returning to the Carnival and will be the first band to perform on our Outside Stage on the Wednesday night at 9pm. The TGT competition will be in the Marquee and will run through the afternoon and early evening until we find a winner! On Friday night (July 29th ) The Pocket Treatment will warm up the crowd for the fabulous ABBA Tribute – Forever. This is always a popular choice and a show NOT to be missed.
On Saturday 30th July, our Music Extravaganza Day, we have a line up of performers to suit everyone. Our
headliners this year are ‘Harbour’! A local band fronted by the vocal excellence of Josh Bidder, who himself was a finalist on our very own TGT many moons ago! Music will commence at 2.30pm and finish at 11.15pm.
Once again this 8 day Carnival Event is completely FREE. There will be no entry charges to ANY of our events. All donations will be much appreciated.
I would like to mention that we have a ‘zero policy’ on alcohol consumed on the Den, unless purchased from the Carnival Bar in the Marquee. This policy is place for the whole of Carnival Week.
The Misplaced Item Competition is completely FREE, so please take this opportunity to walk around our Gem of a town and visit all the shops that take part.
